LXDE: Windows close to move application to task bar

I’m trying to achieve following:

Window close moves application to task bar icon

  • Closing now closes window but the software continues running but there’s no (?) way to access it
  • I want to be able to close a window and it appears as an icon in task bar
  • None of the default plug-ins seems to solve this

How can I achieve this (assuming that this is possible in LXDE like it’s possible in KDE)?

If you mean you want to /minimize/ the application window to the taskbar
click on the “v” option in the upper right corner of the window. If you
click on the “x” option it will /close/ the application making it disappear.

Ken

Minimize icon just “closes” the window while the program still exists in task bar (icon + name if so configured). Closing should not close the program but close the window and iconify the program to task bar like in KDE. Now closing e.g. KTorrent closes the window and it’s no longer accessible without “re-starting” it but the program keeps on running in the background. If I actually want to quit the program I can do it via program’s menu (e.g. File -> quit). Thunderbird behaves like this under KDE but closes under LXDE.
