Low Volume on Dell 1535 Intel 82801H

Hi

Im new on opensuse 11.1, I’ve installed OS and everything goes well, but the sound is too low, In the past with Vista the sound was high, with a Intrepid version of Ubutu works fine too (with hardy is low), but in OpenSuse is too low.

In Volumen Control Front Left and Front Right it’s at 100%, I don’t know if it’s another switch.

Maybe this output Helps:

hwinfo --sound

Let me know what do i have to do to improve the sound.

Thanks in advance.
Let me know if you need something else to detect the problem

Sorry for my english :shame::stuck_out_tongue:

I have a Dell Studio 15 laptop. I think it is a Dell 1537 (similar but not identical to yours).

In my case, on openSUSE-11.1 with KDE-3.5.10, I went to YaST > Hardware > Sound > Other > Volume and moved both the PCM and Master volume controls up to 95%. I then closed YaST. Next I went to my mixer (kmix) and moved up Master, PCM and also Speaker ! Moving up the volume control on that last one (ie on speaker) was the trick to getting good volume.

Thanks a lot
the speaker was at 50%.
