Hi,

I have a low fps in tremulous
with tremulous installed by YaST2 and downloaded from tremulous.net

I’m playing Nexuiz with a good fps in hight video quality (1440x900)
but tremulous have a low fps no matter the video quality or screen resolution

can someone help me?

ps. sorry my english =(

My friend that runs windows has a GeForce 8800 GT(X?) has great FPS at all times in tremulous, I’ve only got a GeForce 7600 GS and a Pentium 4 3 GHz and I’ve got low FPS. It might be that tremulous is quite CPU intensive, what kind of processor are you running?

You’re comparing a quake engine based game with a quake 3 engine based game.
Nexiuz is plain death match and doesn’t have all those animated structures that Tremulous has. Do you have low fps if you’re alone in let’s say the corridor in the map ATCS?

I can only say that the Human base gives me a lot of lag, might be due to the structures being animated or particles flying.

–Edit–
After a few minutes with google I found this thread Backport Lags
Basicly, grab your client here Trem-Servers.com

This really worked great for me and I think that I’ll be able to play again!
If you need further instructions on how to replace the binary just shout

Emulation of missing GPU features is likely to cause a steep increase in CPU processing time. In these cases, I usually just disable the feature.
