Has anyone been successful in running Lotus Notes 6.5 through wine on
opensuse 11.1?

You know that IBM came out with a native Linux client, right? Tried
that to see if it works with your (presumably) 6.5 server?
Also you didn’t provide any information on this and how far you’ve
managed to get so far but a quick Google gave me instances of others
getting it going in Wine so you may want to follow instructions as they
exist out there.

I did sucessfull install Lotus Notes 6.5 in openSUSE 11.0 but with the
crossover program and it is working excellent, crossover is based in
wine so I think it will work.

Sorry for lack of info.
I installed wine, and moved the lotus folder over to drive_c of wine, I
also coppied the necessary dll files to wine/window/system directory.
when I run notes.exe, it opens, but then shows dialog box that says
error opening window.
I am stuck after that.

Wine doesn’t tend to work well like that better to run the installer in
openSUSE with wine.
And as stated below there is a native version

I have installed the native version (8.5), it runs nice, but doesn’t
says it doesn’t work with my companies server which I believe is 6.5.
Any other Ideas?
I will try to do a fresh install of the 6.5 with wine to see how that
works.

I figured it out. I had to grab the dll’s from an xp box instead of my
Vista box. Once I did that and brought the Lotus folder over from XP,
then it all worked.
