Hi All
I am running Suse 11.1 in Virtual Box. I have forgotten my password and can not log in. Is there away to recover or change the password or do I have to start over?
Thanks, Doug

If you still know your root password, then log in as root and then run yast and set the password.
Note, if you lost your root password, google must have > 1000 explanations how to recover one’s root password.

try booting to runlevel one:
init 1
at the grub screen, but before that have a look with google to see about
changing the root password or forgotten password.
I am not going to openly tell you how to crack a box it has to be your own
doing.not that it is a secret and hard to do but still I will not take
responsibility.
By the way if you did not know google has its own linux section, try
ww.google.com/linux that weeds out a lot of superfluous stuff.

Thanks for all the info. I’ll see what I can do. I am new to Suse. If I can’t get it I will reload it.
