Lost Analog Audio

Hi everyone.

On my HTPC box running 12.1 Gnome, analog audio was working fine after install, but some time along the way, it stopped working. Not sure if an update caused it or not. I have not installed or removed any programs since it was working, just updates when prompted. I primarily run XBMC on this box in stand-alone mode. But sound in Gnome is not working either.

I say analog audio, because this box actually has 3 different outputs: analog audio on the motherboard, digital SPDIF on the mother board (works), and HDMI on the NVidia GT220 vid card (I do not use this at all). I have both the SPDIF and analog connected to my stereo receiver. Movies with digital sound tracks requiring the SPDIF work through that, and everything else comes through the analog output (because I was never able to get all sound to come through the SPDIF output). It worked great up until recently. The SPDIF still works fine with movies (the main purpose for this PC), but sometimes I want to play a youtube, or some music or the like and I’m not getting sound. I haven’t changed any settings since the last time it worked. Here are some screen shots for you:

I do not use the HDMI port on the NVidia card at all and don’t plan to.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Did you try

su -
rcalsasound restart

also
SDB:Audio troubleshooting - openSUSE

Step 3 at that link did it! Deleting the card in YaST and reconfiguring it fix it up!

Thanks!
