Loop during login but live boot seems fine

My system is a ASUS GL551V PC with a Intel i7-6700HQ cpu and nvidia GTX 960M.

Overall I have always add a lot of issues with my system and linux, so I tough it would be a good idea to upgrade from leap 42.1 to 42.2.
I did not “upgrade” the system but instead formatted my OS drive (ssd disk) and did a fresh install while setting my second hd (which I kept from the other install) as my /home mountpoint.
Installation was easy. Here’s the problem, when I try to boot the computer the system goes as far as showing the cursor (under a black screen) but suddenly it reverts back to a console screen (in a glimpse it looks like progress statements). The same cursor and black screen appear again and the scenario repeats indefinitely; there’s really no progress, instead only a big loop.’
The thing is, if I try to boot on live cd (which I can only do by booting with kernel safe setting or without acpi) the system loads fine and my second drive is mounted, everything is ok.
I tried adding acpi=off on the grub and booting but to no avail.

Can anyone help me with this issue?

Install the NVIDIA driver
