Hi,
I’m looking for a good gaming headset that will work on opensuse out of the box. Now I have Plantronix Rig500hd that works great on Windows 10 but in opensuse I can’t make it work independently of my 5.1 external audio Creative A300 (I mean sound is going from headphones and external audio at the same time) Plantronics has no support for linux and is not planning to have (I asked them). My dog eat my headphones cable and now I’m looking for a new ones, so can you recommend me? Thank you
(I mean sound is going from headphones and external audio at the same time)
Apparently Linux (or SUSE) doesn’t mute your speakers properly. Could be done manually from alsacontrol. If you manage to mute everything by accident, check it again, sometimes when I click on mute Master, it mutes everything.
Thanks, I’ll check this out, but what do you think about my main question, a linux-compatible headphones
I don’t know what is Linux incompatible. Most headphones use a jack 3.6 connector, which gives a one way data flow. Linux does not care where the data is sent, and the headphone does not care where it came from. Unless Bulgaria has some weird sound drive standards, all/any should do.
No, the standard is the same, I have 3,5 jack on my headphones, and like I said, I’ll check the alsa settings and will write if have trouble.
