I want to pull some data off a disk and create an ISO image with it kind of like ripping a dvd but only ripping data folders I used to use magic iso and a few others when I used windows but now that I am using Linux I am not sure which program/programs to use
acetoneiso2 is in packman
as is isomaster
both will do what you ask
Cool thank you
If you run KDE you ought to try K3B, it’s native and does what you want
easily. It’s what I use to do the same thing!

Simple enough:
mkisofs /path/to/your/top/directory > /path/to/newfile.iso
