Looking for a MASON tutorial...

Hello All,

I’ve only been using Linux systems for about 6 months now and I’m really enjoying it. When I started, I was working an internship as a Programming Intern to create a small web application. I was given a Dev box with everything set up, matching the live server config, I just had to use perl and html to write the pages. I got a good handle on the programming side of things, but my Dev box crashed due to a hardware failure and the guys that set things up for me aren’t here anymore. Right now, I’m doing all my coding on backup/copied pages on the server, but it’s a pain because if I change any of my config files I have to reload them into the server.

I’ve install some packages through yast and cpan, but things still aren’t working properly. What I would like to do is find a tutorial that walks me through the apache install and configure, perl install, and anything else I may need to configure my dev box so that I can run my Mason pages.

Again, I’m still a newbie at all this so I hope that I’ve made my need clear enough for someone to help.

Thanks to all in advance…

Reggie.

openSUSE 10.2 is has not been supported with updates or security
patches for about 14 months…see:
http://en.opensuse.org/SUSE_Linux_Lifetime

do you run it exposed to the internet?

Hi palladium,

No, this server is strictly for internal use. It’s not exposed to the internet at all. But thank you for that info. I will pass it along to our Network Security team and see what happens…
