Hi
I’ve installed openSUSE 11.0 on my PC. I have a ADSL based broadband connect to net. One thing which is confusing me is that it takes less than 1 ms to ping the ADSL modem fom WindowsXP but from linux it takes > 350 ms. What could the matter be?
Are you sure it’s taking that long? It’s not 0.350 ms right? If
nothing else get a LAN trace showing the actual time differences from Linux:
tcpdump -s 0 -w /tmp/file.cap #perform test and then Ctrl+C the command above to stop its execution
and post the /tmp/file.cap.
Good luck.
