LOL. Local settings or hacked SUSE site?

Hi!
I was on my way to write/post “Why Ubuntu keeps the desktop”](http://fossforce.com/2015/04/why-ubuntu-keeps-the-desktop/) which I don’t agree upon for a second.

I was on my way to login to the forum and:

http://www.jodo.nu/pic/pic2/snapshot78.jpeg

I tried on 2 different openSUSE machines with both Firefox and Chromium. It has been a massive attack sins Sunday. Today (monday April 27) between 07.00-15.31(GMT +2) it was 11 291 not successful logins try on-my-not-at-all-intresting VM that holds all the photos published here. Not connected on “the run” to my internal LAN.

But it gave me some things to think about, -If…Not… Whit my small resources have I choose the wrong solution(openSUSE)? Or was it a small hickup at the login page at openSUSE?

regards with a :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s a bug that seems to pop up very, very randomly - take a peek here;
https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/502833-Chinese-or-Japanese-characters-in-the-openSUSE-forums-login-screen-with-firefox

Ok! Puuuhhh! Thanks for the fast answer. The problem also showed up in chromium for me today. This post was not a questing about technical help. Moore of… Is openSUSE safe enough? Is there better alternatives?

regards

Yes, it’s a known issue, but hasn’t been easy to track down what causes
the incorrect language selection.

We’re aware of it and the people who handle the backend are aware of it
and have been researching it.

Yes, it’s fine. It’s a bug in the software that handles the login,
nothing to do with openSUSE at all.

There is no need to panic.

It seems ok now. I don’t see chinese character in log in page.

You seem not to understand what the problem is. It is only happening now and then (making it more troublesome to debug). Thus when it is OK for you now, it maybe Chinese (or German) again on a day next month.

BTW, this is of course NOT the forum to discuss problems with the forum’s software. That is in the Forums Feedback forum. And there it is already discussed, because it is an old problem already (and it happened much more frequently in the past).

Yeah, it’s intermittent.
