My logitech MX Master 3S mouse picks up and grabs and drags graphical elements of pages as the cursor is moved across them with no mouse clicks. The graphics element of the page sticks and is moved with the cursor. Very annoying. The esc key will disconnect them.
Also, at times text elements on a page become highlighted as if to copy with no left click.
It is as if the left mouse button is always clicked.
This is dual boot computer. I have verified that this issue does not happen on windows even on same browser and same page. Windows is using default Microsoft driver not a logitech driver and not having issue. This fact says to me that issue is not mechanical hardware issue but some OS setting.
I use mate desktop which has mouse setup app. I have added logitech “solaar” that also is used to setup mice. solaar has settings that can be unlocked to change properties.
Question is what mouse property controls grabbing of graphical elements? What property might I try changing? Should it be done by mate mouse app or solaar?
Any ideas would be appreciated. thanks, tom kosvic
We use a Logitech M510 wireless mouse on dual boot desktop systems. Oops, sorry, not dual boot - but they are two disparate physical machines running simultaneously (a Thinkpad laptop with Win10 and a custom built desktop running openSuse).
And actually, the mouse’s (Unifying) receiver is plugged into the 38" Dell monitor that features auto KVM, so we can switch between the two machines instantly (both booted and running). We use KDE Plasma with X11. No probs.
Does your mouse use the dedicated Logitech USB receiver? If yes, which type?
Have you done troubleshooting, let’s say, you turn the mouse Off when you shut down the Win instance, then turn the mouse ON just prior to booting openSuse? Make a difference?
The mouse is on a usb bolt receiver according to solaar. usb, not bluetooth
Have not tried turning off mouse before exiting windows and then turning it back on when linux is back running. Will give it a try but I only go to windows normally to do a monthly update which I did today…
