This is a problem I am having with most distros, but in other I somehow manage to bypass. However, I don’t know how in Leap.
So, I am using an Intel Nuke N3150 PC, which has the in-chip VGA, with two outputs. One D-SUB15 and one HDMI. However for some reason, there is another hidden output, called “Laptop” (I have seen this in other distros under “Display setup”, and at the same time, this is the default display. Therefore, after a fresh install of Leap, using “Generic desktop” (not KDE, nor Gnome), I am stuck with a black screen and a cursor. No login screen, no message nothing.
I have two monitors and both display the same image. I am sure there is a 3rd one, that has the login screen. During installation both monitors (and the 3rd?) were displaying the same picture.
How it is possible to login now? Is there any shortcut? Somehow to move the login dialog to the other screen? Anyway to open the monitors.xml and edit it?
Hi
Nothing in the system BIOS to set default display/output? If not you might have to play with the grub kernel options at boot and add the likes of;
video=HDMI-1:d
If you could get to a X or wayland session and see the output from xrandr to determine exact name to use, perhaps boot from a live USB Rescue eg Tumbleweed and see what is what.
