Login screen grey

Hello,
I’ve installed OpenSuse 11.1 with kde 3. Now I installed KDE 4.2. But now my Login Screen is grey. >:( There is a console log and an login field. But i can’t change the display manager. What might be the reasons for this? If I change the Login Screen there isn’t any changes. Can somebody help me.

Looks like it is dropping down to a default window manager.

try and launch YaST see if anything happens.

You might have to drop to a console and use the ncurses yast instead of the
GUI.

When in Yast try in System>/etc/sysconfig Editor>Desktop and make sure that
the DISPLAYMANAGWER is kde4 and WINDOWMANAGER is startkde
