Login Backround reset after every kernel update

Greetings All,

This is just a nit, but I have noticed that whenever the kernel is updated, the background picture that I have set up for the login screen seems to be reset to “default_blue”. No other setting seems to be disturbed.

After each update, I have to go into Configure Desktop->Login manager and set my background picture again. Why is this happening? Is there a way to fix this?

I am running Suse 11.3, KDE v4.4.4.

Thanx in advance

Rich

Hi,

It seems that after a kernel update, the menu"lst is recreated and you lost you’re grub configuration…

Don’t know how to fix this though.

I don’t think this is the issue. The logon background that I am referring to is for the KDE logon screen, not the GRUB panel.
I don’t believe that menu.lst has anything to do with the logon screen.

Oups! Sorry, I thouht you were referring to the grub one… :stuck_out_tongue:

I followed the instructions in this post and after the new kernel’s were installed I had no problem with the KDM changing back to the default.

I hope that this helps!

Cheers!
