The autofill for username and password on the openSUSE forum login page seems to be broken (at least in Firefox).
I am having to enter my username and password manually every time I login.
Any chance to get this looked at?
Thanks

GNOME 3.6.2
openSUSE Release 12.3 (Dartmouth) 64-bit
Kernel Linux 3.7.10-1.16-desktop
about:data
this just gives me an “invalid url” when entered in firefox.
Do you mean “about:config”?
Deleting all histtory, cookies etc from firefox when going to the login page my login details are not entered automatically. I must enter them manually. Nor am I prompted to remember the login details.
playing around a little further autofill seems to be working fine in Chromium.
In Firefox I went into saved passwords and deleted the attachmate / openSUSE entry. Deleted all history, cache, cookies etc.
Went to login page and entered my credentials to login.
This time firefox prompted me to save the login details.
Logged out, cleared all cookies, cache again, restarted browser.
Went back to login page and my details are not autofilled and I am required to enter them manually again.
Something is definitely wrong between the forum software and firefox (unless it is just me)
Nope, it’s not just you. I had this issue for a long time (including bad redirect to the original post) but I thought it might be an addon I use so I did not want to check 45+ addons.
What might help (for me it does) it’s a refresh of the login page. This works for me lately though sometime ago typing the first letter of the username worked (now it does not).
This seem to change something in the link regarding the “id/sid from 0 to 1” which autocompletes the login form.
Firefox will ask you if you want to re-send the data but since it did not send anything I think there is no problem.
Cheers.

check settings in Edit==>preferences==>Security tab
GNOME 3.6.2

Checked all settings here and nothing is amiss. It is as it should be.
Also, Since i use SeaMonkey(based on Firefox) i assumed that data
manager exists for Firefox too but. Since it is not built into firefox,
try using this addon
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/data-manager/ and repeat
the above steps
installed the addon.
Removed all mentions attachmate
restarted the browser, proceeded to login page and entered my credentials. Selected to remember the credentials from the firefox popup prompt.
Log out, Restart browser, proceed to login page and the problem persists - autocomplete is not functioning.
I am not surprised as the only page that autocomplete does not function on for me is the openSUSE login page.
Of the other 50 autocomplete logins I have stored all work correctly.
I am now fairly certain the problem is with the forum software and not related to my setup at all.
ahh, yes. I get this too. Hitting reload will then reload the page and fill the login credentials.
Obviously something is wrong.

Try running firefox in safe mode (start with --safe-mode IIRC)

that worked for me.
I don’t have too many addons installed so I went through one at a time disabling and it seems the issue was caused by a video streaming plugin from veehd.com
Interesting though that only the openSUSE forum pages were effected.

That is strange, but I’m glad that the problem’s been identified.
