Can someone please explain why as a logged in user I still have a captcha on both search and editing screens. Every thing I have searched on seems to indicate a logged in user should not see these captcha items.

Well I seem to have solved the problem by creating this thread, which is my first post after registering on the forums.

Reading the above I conclude that you already feel at home enough and found the correct sub-forum for your question. 
There are some restrictions on new users. I do not know the details, but e.g… creating a signature is only allowed after a certain amount of activity/time. This all to battle spam.
I have this problem. Every time I post I have to complete the Captcha box. Also, I can’t edit my own profile.
