Localization

A bit of a rant
One of the things that makes opensuse and linux not-so-user friendly is the fact that the localization is lacking. For instance, if I setup opensuse with all my local settings (time, printer preferences etc), these settings do not carry through to programs that are installed. eg if I set the default printer to have A4 in opensuse yast settings, I still have to set openoffice, kpdf, gimp, firefox and many others up to have the same settings. The same is applicable to time - though not so often.

It seems that there is a lack of co-ordination between programmers of applications and distro programmers.

If things like keyboards can be set centrally, surely this can be adopted for printing and time.

Not sure I’d actually want my printer settings to carry trough in each program tbh. I might want to print documents in openoffice always in gray-values for example.
