locale problems - might be Yast

Despite en_GB being installed and selected in KDE

either

System settings -> Common appearance and behaviour (sic) -> locale -> System Country (United Kingdom)

or

doesn’t prevent “Favorites” on menu

I’m a bit lost and would be grateful for a few pointers

I guess this is the same as this one: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/install-boot-login/481485-yet-another-utf-8-problem-2.html

The solution is in the last few posts: an update of glibc should be rolled back.

(BTW, I do not understand what the problem with Favorites on menu (which one) is).

he wants it to have an unnecessary (in most worldwide communications in
English) “u”…and, i bet s/he would also want the GIMP menu to have
Colour instead of the ‘correct’ way, Color!

please see the smile and lets not go to war over it.

Thank you - yes I had the 12.2 update repo enabled

I rolled back glibc, glib-locale and glib-extra - which caused roll back candidate modules for YaST

and now I get “Favourites” in my KDE menu (rather than “Favorites” answering your question) and YaST works - joy

Did we ever declare peace after 1776?

And yes, colour in the GIMP would be nice, after all one reason we use this stuff is that enables Xhosa or Quechua and other minority languages such as en_GB

BTW I quite like litre, metre, centre, sulphur (I know, we lost that one in 1961…) however when are you going to spell it “aforism”?
