LLA Support

anyone know if LLA is supported by openSUSE 11.3?

cheers!

I’m sure someone else is going to ask if I don’t… What does your LLA stand for? Googling, I had to actually pull from Page 2 results references to an obsolete reference to a Language Laboratory Association and another for Mobile Localization Node Algorithm… My guess still not what you likely are asking about.

start with a better linux searcher, try LLA here:

http://www.google.com/linux

and, then get to GUESS from:
Ldap Log Analyser
Linux Liberation Army
Last Locked At
Locally Administered Address

and others

or try to search on
linux “LLA”
and find Linux Lighting Architecture (and others)

or go here:
http://www.acronymfinder.com/Information-Technology/LLA.html
and find

Link-Local Addresses
Link Level Access
Logical Layered Architecture
Longman Language Activator
Library Lookaside (MVS)
Lower-Level Agent
Low-Latency Application

no, i do not know why folks come here and ask cryptic questions that
can’t be answered until more info is provided…

because they don’t realize they’re being cryptic? for someone who thinks,
deals with, and breathes ‘LLA’ (whatever that may be) day & night, it’s
probably hard to imagine others might not know what the heck he’s asking
about…

Although I haven’t read or participated in any discussion on this topic before now, based on my observations the answer should be yes, at least for IPv6 if I’m reading ifconfig correctly.

A recommended test:
Create a network interface that uses DHCP or physically disconnect your machine from the network and reload thereby attempting to request a new DHCP lease.
Run ifconfig, I’m pretty sure you’ll see what appears to be an IPv6 address (unless you maybe disabled that)

Or, I could be all wrong…
