I’ve got openSUSE 11.3 running via liveUSB on a netbook and no matter how many times I try, I cannot get wireless to connect to my network. My network is:
non-broadcast
WPA2 Personal
G
The netbook is fairly recent from Asus and wireless works perfectly with Fedora 11 and Windows XP.
We’re going to need more info about your network card. (These and additional commands are in the sticky post at the top of the forum)

I have similar problem with wireless being not available in LiveUSB. Hardware info after probing is displaying wireless card but it is not listed either in Yast or network manager

Thanks Rodney,
After installing broadcom-wl and broadcom-wl-kmp-desktop my boot got messed up and couldn’t fix it. Created new LiveUSB and tried again and same thing happened - couldn’t boot.
I’m officialy giving up.
Thanks again for your help.

It would probably work better on an actual install. If you go to all that trouble on a live cd and then reboot, all your work will go away anyway. Plus, you’ll be able to update everything on the actual install.
