LiveUSB boot problem

Hello everyone,

this is my first post on an openSUSE forum, I have been a long time k/ubuntu user but was really impressed by the stability of KDE in openSUSE.

I decided to make the switch, i followed the instructions on the lizards blog for creating a live USB stick, the link is:

openSUSE Lizards

However, I encounter a problem every time I try to boot: after loading the kernel and initrdud, i looks for a usb drive, and fails to load usb! it then gives a weird line (i didn’t memorize it exactly but it looks something like:

(none) :/ #

I’m guessing USB installs that problematic should be a discouragement for a new SUSE user, and if i wasn’t really impressed by the OS i guess i would be

Any assistance on solving this problem is much appreciated

So I wonder if it might be related to this issue? You did not say what file system it included.

Automount of external NTFS USB drive fails when using the Device Notifier

I would guess you would have to boot a LiveCD (if it would work), mount the USB and use CHROOT to edit the USB stick setup as above. There is another issue with USB 3 devices I also know about.

Thank You,
