live usb - how to get the total capacity

Hello all,

I have a USB stick 8GB capacity where I installed an openSUSE 11.2 Live USB. After a while I formated the USB from Windows and I notice that the capacity is 650 MB. How can I get the total capacity?

Wipe with dd

dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/hd?

replace ? with letter of usb

Just another question can I partition my usb drive in order to use a part to boot liveCD and the other partition to have a FAT32 in order to exchange data from diffrent PCs.
