Live CD questions

Hello everyone. I have a question ( i think is related to the live CD ).
Is there a posibility to install ati drivers on a live sistem to test it ?
I had to many problems with this videocard and i just dont want to mess around with my system.
Thank you for any answer.

No.
ATI - Problems - I’m not surprised by that.

If you tell us what type of ATI, someone might be able to help advise.

Thank you for your answer.
My ati cardt is : ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 ( 200M ).
I have read alot of topics about ATI , thousands of tips. But always after i install ATI drivers, it happens one of 2 things:

  1. My screen is black and i cannot go even to a console
  2. My scrren is not black, but KDE wont start. I see the splash, the goes directly to login.
BTW, i’m using openSuSE x64 ( installed from the live CD ), KDE 4.1.3
I dont realy neeed 3D, but i need SVideo and i think only ATI Drivers may help here.
    Thank you !

Is vesa no good for you, have you tried it, does it work?

How to:

Pause the boot by moving the down arrow, then back up to the default boot. But now press backspace, it should delete any text where you can see VGA=.
Remove all text and now type just the number:
3
and hit enter

at the login type your user name and then password
now type:
su
then the root password
now type this:
sax2 -r -m 0=vesa
(N.B. the 0 is a zero not a letter)

now reboot
if you don’t get a gui login
login as user and try this at the cli
startx

I couldn’t see any driver listed at ATI so you may have to use vesa.

I can use the radeon opensource driver. so i dont need vesa .
I was talking about the proprietary drivers ( maybe the S_Video output will work with it )
