openSUSE 11.2 is still in alpha stage.

IMHO you should not upgrade, it’s not going to work. What I would do, is a fresh install of 11.1 on the HP, and reconfigure everything that’s running on the old server. Since 9.3 a lot of things have changed, so copying everything from /etc will probably not work, that is might cause deep trouble even.
Seriously, there’s a lot of things you could transfer, but I’ve met too much trouble in doing so, that I prefer a new clean setup, whenever I want to upgrade the OS. Gives me the opportunity to get rid of glitches and workarounds.

I always do a clean install even between minor versions. Of course, my data files are in home partition and just keep that partition intact (Not applicable to server environment).
