Thanks for the info, that was the kinf of thing I need right now. My laptop is running particularly hot on linux (on openSUSE more than on some other distros).
The program powertop (probably from the same intel project) is also good. But be aware that the hints in that program are sometimes a bit outdated/buggy - maybe someone both programming-wise and linux-friendly (form intel or not) will update that tool one day…

Not sure about the titles of your links being limited to Intel systems (maybe its the website thats inconsistent?). Mostly the pages claim to be for “Linux” generally, but only the “projects” page limits to “Intel Platforms”. Are you saying all of it is only for Intel systems?

No, I was just being lazy - I didn’t attempt to rename the links. There are some Intel-specific info, but some of it is more general.
