Linux bug with the Crucial M-500 SSD Question

Hi,
I am planning to use this SSD on a laptop.
While searching the crucial site I encountered this thread regarding the firmware bug on linux kernel
http://forum.crucial.com/t5/Crucial-SSDs/M500-M5x0-QUEUED-TRIM-data-corruption-alert-mostly-for-Linux/td-p/151028
The link above if followed tells about the blacklist was implemented in the kernel for this bug.

Apparently this was fixed according to this link below in the kernel version 3.17.1
https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/tj/libata.git/patch/?id=1c40279960bcd7d52dbdf1d466b20d24b99176c8
With the link above maybe tumbleweed is the way to go or enable tumbleweed repo for the kernel upgrade?

Prior to openSUSE 13.2 installation it is advised to update first to the latest firmware.
I wonder if there are members here that uses this brand of SSD and can advice me before I use it in the laptop.

Any help/advice is highly appreciated.
