“Android will bring DEMOCRACY to the WORLD. A combination of Moore’s law and Android will bring down corrupt and authoritarian regimes over the coming years, Google CEO Eric Schmidt declared at a Google conference on Privacy today.”
Ah, THAT is why Android is promoted so aggressively. Now it all makes sense - as it turns out, thanks for clarifying, Google, Facebook, MySpace, Wikipedia, eBay, Yahoo are just tools to bring democracy to sovereign, independent countries people of which have no idea what human rights they are missing. So they they have to be bombed first, and then for whoever is left the democratic countries will build them a brighter future.
This is a typical method (quite a few of them in fact in a single sentence) of Mind Manipulation. What’s the relationship between the Moore’s Law and bringing down a government? There is NONE. No direct one at least. But if you put what he’s left out in the middle it will make sense - The Moore’s Law will make gadgets smaller but more powerful -> the gadgets will use Linux based Android -> they have loads of money to advertise it to gullible public to make them to sign up to this bandwagon (Google, Android, Chromium, Facebook, Picasa etc.) -> they will use social media to ignite and spread orange revolutions in any country which doesn’t want to conform to the “democratic” ideas and human rights -> these will bring down the governments.
Are there any phones left other than iPhone, Android and Windows 7?
PS. Facebook announced it wants 13 year olds to have access, Google’s face recognition tools in public web album (Picasa), Wikipedia’s “democratic” censorship, eBay and PayPal account closures, Microsoft purchased Skype, Android to change unwilling governments… only a complete moron can’t see where it’s all heading.
You know, most, if not all recurring conspiracy theories end up having a simple, common motive: money. These guys want to jump in the smartphone wagon because they think - mostly based on the iphone app store perceived success - it is the new cash cow. the rest is just window dressing - or is it salad dressing?
Of course Mr. Schmidt would anoint Android as the agent of change. I am comfortable that Steve Jobs might share the belief, substituing the Iphone, and the Redmond contingent might proffer some yet-to-be-named flavor of Windex.
Cell phones, smartphones, wireless worldwide access and many other technological developments bring information to the masses deprived of such, offering an alternative to governmental information control. However, this knowledge accompanying uprisings, revolt and government transition do not necessarily ensure that democracy is the end product. Often as not, one form of suppression is merely replaced by another version of government control, once that government manages to control the flow of information.
As for alternatives to the current panoply of personal information agents, take a look at a true unlocked Iphone or (the rare and somewhat elusive) unlocked/AND unloaded Android phone.
