Linksys wlan adapter setup

Hi,

I have lately replaced Windows XP with openSUSE on a low-end laptop. Everything works well, except for the network that I am not able to configure. The computer is using external USB wlan adapter **Linksys WUSB54GC **with rt73 chipset. I have the driver (from http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/rt73-cvs-daily.tar.gz).

I have no idea how to proceed now, not to mention that this is my first trial with Linux OS. I’ve tried also ndiswrapper, but did not succeed after all. Could there be a more simple way to get the adapter working? It is all so much different from installing drivers etc under Windows or MacOS I’ve lived with so far…

Any piece of help or information is highly appreciated!

Absolute newby with Linux

Have you read the stickies in the wireless section ? ( where wireless questions are normally asked  )
