When I had openSuse 11.3 installed, I had a version of Lightscribe also installed that would let me put pretty much any graphic I wanted in a label. Each time I used it, I would get a message that I should upgrade to the latest version as the version I had would not use the drives to their full potential. Meh.
After I changed to openSuse 12.1, I, of course, had to install the latest version of software for Lightscribe. Now, I can only print text and so smarmy little tracks of their choice on the disks. Ug! Usless! It’s back to the Magic-Marker.
Lightscribe, now apparently owned by HP, has a full featured version of their software available for Windows, but not Linux.
Does anyone know of a way to use the old version of the lightscribe software on 12.1?
Is there a replacement?
Do I need to try to get my old Epson printer with the disk printing tray back in service?
Seems a shame to not be able to label my disks. Hoping someone comes up with a solution.
