Running openSuse 12.1 on a laptop. Functionally, it works well, but fails to install updates and patches. The YaST install requires awaits a license agreement, that is never found. It is , especially annoying when trying to install Adobe products with Flash, and associated plug-ins, I suspect it was missing or corrupted during the 12.1 install. Additionally, when trying to autoupdate Suse patches, YaST claims that libzypp.so.1003 is required and cannot install needed patches. Attempted to install the file separately, which has 23 packages, but YaST awaits for a license agreement, and the service to start. The same message occurs using a command-line install. What do I need to do to repair the install, that would allow patch and application updates manually or by YaST? I’d like to keep the current install, but if they are trial versions that I can’t patch or update the distribution, it may be easier to upgrade to another version.

You will not get updates for 12.1 as it is EOL (End of Life) and patches
are not provided any longer. If by chance you mean 13.1 then repost
stating so.

From the kernel and KDE version quoted, I do think they are referring to openSUSE 12.1 indeed. Time to upgrade distro to current version.
Thanks all. I guess I should read the forum more frequently. I wasn’t aware of 12.1 EOL status - the distribution seemed so recent, it didn’t cross my mind to think it was no longer supported.
