Hi!
After upgrading to kernel 3.4.11, dmesg now shows messages about “kernel tainted” for the libvirt module. Reverting to 3.4.6 solved the problem. The message appears as soon as /etc/init.d/libvirtd is started.
Couldn’t find anything googling.
My system is OpenSuse 12.2 64-bit.
Thanks!

I don’t know what it means - haven’t seen or paid attention to this message either. I just started virt-manager on kernel 3.4.11 and launched a kvm virtual machine. It works.

Tainted means “non open and free” module. A bugzilla on the kernel with
a tainted module will be ignored.
if libvirt is open, then then it doesn’t announce the fact properly.
