hi!
i’ve fixed the fonts in the whole system using the packman repo for subpixel hinting, but my libreoffice fonts are still terrible. is there a way to fix them? they are still squary and break in half and little dots appear on the screen everytime i press enter while typing

Scratch that, i chose the tumbleweed version in the repo, and it works better than the 11.4.
Thanks anyways!

Search the forums for “freetype2”, there’s a thread that contains some links on subpixel hinting.

will polished freetype fonts be available by default in 12.1?
Because if yes, i don’t mind waiting until that glorious day in november our openSUSE comes out!
Create a file called .Xresources in your home folder and enter the following contents:-
! Xft settings ---------------------------------------------------------------
Xft.dpi: 96
Xft.antialias: true
Xft.rgba: rgb
Xft.hinting: true
Xft.hintstyle: hintslight
Xft.lcdfilter: lcddefault
Logout and login again, you should have better Libreoffice fonts.
