LibreOffice Calc: Why do I have to copy->copy->paste?

When copying a cell or cells etc. and then pasting, it pastes the
previous copy. I therefore have to copy a cell, copy it again, and then
paste.

I’ve checked the clipboard and the first copy does not appear on it.

A test I’ve just done suggests it alternates, only copying correctly
every other time so copying cells containing a.b.c.d.e.f into 6 other
cells one at a time results in a,a,c,c,e,e.

I’m using openSUSE version of LibreOffice 6.0.2.1.0 but this also
happened with later versions of LO5. I’ve yet to test LO’s own version.

Just installed LO version and the problem also exists there. I’ll also
raise the problem with them via their newsgroup.

I have just tried with LibreOffice-6.0.2.1.0 on Tumbleweed.
Copy-Paste of .ods cell contents using <Ctrl+C>, <Ctrl+V> and right-click menu works as expected with repeated copying of different text, date and currency values.

Hmm. Curious. I’ll try on different machines, Leap, etc. I may be some time.

yes, me too has this problem, libreoffice 5.4.5.1-40 on leap 42.3 KDE [FONT=Noto Sans]plasma 5.12.3, good thing to know that copying twice works, often when I copy from calc to kate or kwrite it doesn’t works the second time, I restart libreoffice and it works but only the first time.

I’ve tried various versions and it worked OK at 5.3.4 but fault showed
up in 5.4.2. It may have first appeared before the latter version but
those two are the only ones I had available that bracketed it.

I’ve also tried 6.0.2 on Windoze 10 and it works OK.

I’ve reported this as bug 1086755.

Have solved this - accidentally - by making a clean install from a later
snapshot of TW (20180320). A fresh install of older version followed by
updates did not provide a solution.

I’m not sure now how this cure will help you but perhaps Leap 15 may
provide a solution. I tried installing the beta version a few days ago
but it was a bit of a mess - partly me messing up the GRUB install due
to the new menu - so didn’t test out the problem on it.

Tried Leap 15 beta on another machine and worked OK. Tested for LO copy
and paste problem and there was no sign of trouble. So it looks as if a
cure for the problem on Leap is to install 15 when it arrives.

Oh bother! It’s back!
Version 6.1.0.3
This occurred after a brand new install of TW.

Zombie bugs are a right pain. Any chance that someone could chop the
head off this one for good and all?

I’ve also lost my pretty coloured icons from the toolbar and am stuck
with the ugly monochrome things. Any connection? Can’t figure how to get
the coloured ones back. Sigh!

DO you have the openSUSE branding?

The only libreoffice-branding module available is
“libreoffice-branding-upstream - Original Branding for LibreOffice”
