libexec

Hi,

I’m trying to instal pine-pgp-filters-1.7 from
https://dougbarton.us/PGP/ppf/, a set of scripts to handle PGP in
(al)pine. I see this warning:

cer@minas-tirith:~/Compilaciones/pine-pgp-filters-1.7> ./configure

Using /usr/local as the prefix

/usr/local/libexec does not exist. It will be created during make install.

/usr/bin/gpg2 found

cer@minas-tirith:~/Compilaciones/pine-pgp-filters-1.7>

Anyway, it installs it locally during install:

> minas-tirith:/home/cer/Compilaciones/pine-pgp-filters-1.7 # make install
> install -m 555 $PWD/out/ppf_* /usr/local/libexec
> ln -sf /usr/local/libexec/ppf_mime /usr/local/bin/ppf_mime
> ln -sf /usr/local/libexec/ppf_mime_decrypt /usr/local/bin/ppf_mime_decrypt
> minas-tirith:/home/cer/Compilaciones/pine-pgp-filters-1.7 #

Hi
Normally you should have a look at the configure options to point at
the system libexec directory.

../configure --help

If none, then look at the Makefile.

Hi
Had a look at the tarball, have patched and building on OBS now;
The patch is here;

Ah, you mean one that uses the system libexec? That’s nice. :slight_smile:

But I said that the package installed anyway, there was no need for you
to bother that much… thanks. Now anybody that needs those filters can
install your package, right? :slight_smile:

Hi
Yes, it should either be /usr/local/lib/pkg_name or /usr/lib/pkg_name
on openSUSE.

Correct although will probably move it to the Misc repo :), I’ll
probably upstream the patch as well…
