When trying to install libapreq2 from the distro a message saying that “nothing provides apache_mmn_20120211 needed by apache2-mod_apreq2-2.13-4.19.x86_64”. Now there exist a file (in) “/usr/lib64/apache2_MMN” which “echo apache_mmn_20051115” with a date stamp of 2/16/2012.
Question is what’s the problem here? Is the distro file (apache2_MMN) in error? Can I change it to read “20120211” without harm? Is this lib no longer used/wanted/obsolete/has been replaced? If it’s still a workable parameter how do I install apreq2?
How do you think people can say anything usefull when you do not even tell which version of openSUSE you use, from which repo you try to install and maybe even more basic info?
You’re right and I know nothing from nothing so please excuse my bad manners. First I’d like to know if this is the right place to post question regarding Apache and secondly could you delete this posting and I’ll re-post again with more info and a different title … or what is the proper way to add additional information and get people to re-look at the posting? It doesn’t seem that I can edit my own posting unless you’re to use “Reply to Thread” instead of “Post Quick Reply” … is that it?

This is a perfectly fine place for such questions. Editing is disabled
after 10 minutes - see the FAQ for the explanation why.
To add additional information, just reply to the thread or a message
asking for more information with the additional ifnormation that’s been
requested. No need to delete the thread and start over.
OS - openSuSE 12.1
App. - Apache 2.2.21-3.6.1
Distro - Standard distro’s as set during installation and by yast2 + Apache Modules
I originally installed Apache 2.4 after a short time of experimenting with 2.2 on a VM and realized that some of the changes were instrumental in my ability to correctly set certain features. I then opted to reload Apache 2.2 in order to give me time to better understand the changes and continue advancing my understanding of mod_security2, ReWrite and SetEnvIf.
After reloading Apache 2.2 I wasn’t seeing the same list of modules available so I added Apache-Modules repro back. In part some of the confusion for me is that modules are not labeled in their descriptions as pertaining to any specific flavor of Apache. Since the programming world on the whole has moved to “modularized” design for dynamic or ease of use it didn’t occur to me that Apache modules would not work across various versions. So when trying to install libapreq2 from the yast listing and a message saying that “nothing provides apache_mmn_20120211 needed by apache2-mod_apreq2-2.13-4.19.x86_64” I wasn’t sure what the problem was. I did a grep of file associations to Apache and found that there exist a file (in) “/usr/lib64/apache2_MMN” which contained a single line … “echo apache_mmn_20051115” with a date stamp of 2/16/2012. That information only produced more questions and where was going to be the proper channel to start with to find the answer. I came here because I didn’t compile and don’t know who controls how the distro’s are assembled for download.
So my question is what’s the problem here? Is the distro file (apache2_MMN) in error? Can I change my copy to read “20120211” without harm? My quick search for information on this file returned very little information. Is this lib no longer used/wanted/obsolete/has been replaced? It appears to have been around for awhile, if it’s still a workable parameter how do I install apreq2? I don’t understand the makeup of the distro’s … take for instance “rkhunter” which was in 11.3 and is in 12.1 but not in 11.4.
Any feed back on anything posed would be appreciated.
