I have a problem… ihave the L226WTQ monitor and ATI Radeon x1300… connected true DVI…
The resolution stuck at 1680x1050 , and I wnt to change it to 1440x900
I tried to install the monitor drivers from CD,with the “Utility Disk” but nothing changed…
NEED HELP…
The more apt question is - why do you want 1440x900 when the native resolution for that display is 1680x1050 - as suggested by the configuration.
If you switch to a lower resolution, you will either have black bars or you will lose ‘pixel perfect’ display as it will automatically scale the resolution.
i already have a bad vision(and its getting worse) and 1680x1050 is to small for me…
the problem is that i already had successfully changed the resolution before… now i reinstalled the system and now i cant do anything with the resolution…

Setting the correct resolution will give you a sharp image.
Now configure everything to use larger fonts and big icons. If it still isn’t big enough, try the magnifier in Compiz.
I’m with Chrysanthine here, a lower resolution doesn’t make sense.
