New to OpesSuse have played around with Linux for a while
Having trouble with Wifi. Wired network runs well but wireless does not
Running an older Lenovo thinkpad t-400 OpenSuse Leap 42.1 all updates up to date
YaST2 NetworkSettings Shows:
Wireless Adapter: AR242X / AR542X Wireless Network Adapter PCI Express (NotConfigured)
FN+F5 should initiate wireless but does not. All other FN+Fx toggles work
Network manager seems to be working as it is supporting an active wired ethernet adapter and connection
In Network Manager,at boot up, Airplane Mode switch is in off position
wireless switch is in the on position
Under Select Network– Network Manager keeps looking for networks
Under Wifi settings connect to hidden network I input the SSID encryption and password Network manager searches then times out
There are many networks in the neighborhood and nothing is found
When I turn on Airplane Mode in network manager, wireless becomes unavailable. Airplane mode can not be turned off and wifi cannot be turned back on.
Upon reboot, airplane mode remains on and wifi remains off
Upon Power Down and Start, airplane mode comes up off and wifi comes up on
YaST2 NetworkSettings shows:
Wireless Adapter: AR242X / AR542X Wireless Network Adapter PCI Express (NotConfigured)
