I’m using this keyboard with a Trackpoint (the little rubber nub on the keyboard).

I love it, and I need to use it because if I use a mouse I get carpal tunnel.
Lenovo doesn’t list Linux nor OSX support, just Windows.
I’m a refugee after 5 years with Ubuntu because of Unity, and I’m glad I went looking for a new home, because OpenSUSE looks a lot better anyway. Once I found OpenSUSE I decided to go out and get another machine and migrate off of Vista for good.
My first issue is that my Trackpoint is too slow. I have to push really hard to get it to move fast. In Windows it has it’s own driver so I could set it just like I wanted. In OSX I just went in and bumped the speed up. In Ubuntu I was in a virtual machine and never had the problem because of the abstraction, I guess, or maybe I bumped up the speed. In OpenSUSE I can’t find the right place to do it.
So, how can I speed up the cursor, please?
I took pertinent screenshots.
This is a new computer – i5-2500, 8 Gigs RAM. I installed OpenSUSE 64-bit from a DVD I created from the ISO I downloaded. I confirmed the SHA1 was correct and burned it to a DVD. I booted with GPARTED and deleted all partitions on a 500 Gig hybrid drive. Then installed OpenSUSE. So this is a brand new install. I just went with the easy defaults to get started – no btrfs, etc.

Hopefully those screenshots will be enough to point someone to know how to do it.
thank you
Anyone got any ideas how I can speed up the cursor?

I have no trackpoint but I wonder if the last screenshot (loystick) is
really the right place to change any settings for it since it acts as a
mouse. When you go to the mouse settings into the second tab has the
acceleration no effect?

Right, the mouse acceleration setting has no effect.
I’m trying to fix my **i5 **running OpenSUSE 12.1 x64. I loaded OpenSUSE 12.1 (32) on a virtual machine on my i7 and there is no joystick entry. Considering that, and the fact that on the i5 the correct name seems to be shown in the Joystick section under ‘device’ (Thinkpad USB Keyboard), it sure looks like I need to speed up the joystick, but there are no controls for it in the GUI. How can I speed up the joystick? … sysvinit?, xorg.conf?, some app?
What part of Linux is handling this? … kernal? … X Windows? … KDE?
I found this in XINPUT. I think the answer must be in here somewhere, if I can figure out how to change it. …
