Lenovo G505s boot problem

Hi,

I installed Windows 7, and after that, I installed openSUSE Tumbleweed to a Lenovo G505S notebook.
After installing openSUSE, the system was not able to boot. I saw a “Welcome to grub” (or something similar) for a second, and then nothing but a blank screen.
I booted the rescue system, and tried to repair grub2 manually (mounting dev,proc,sys, chroot, grub2-install, etc.) but in vain: the boot problem still exists.
I searched this forum, and found that someone suggested to use uefi settings in the BIOS (currently I set these settings to legacy).
I would be grateful if someone could help me with this issue. I don’t want to reinstall the whole system in UEFI mode (anyway, I don’t know how to do that with Windows 7).
Is there any other option?

Try adding the nomodeset grub option and see if it comes up.

Installing in UEFI mode if you have a windows install dvd/usb is fairly painless :wink: Just have to prepare the disk…
