I have just installed Leap 42.1 and Cinnamon.
Wireless connection works OK, but the Cinnamon network applet do not, it complains about “The system network services are not compatible with this version.” and do not show any connection.
It looks like it’s an lib version problem and it was solved in Cinnamon sources past year. Are the official Leap 42.1 Cinnamon packages outdated?
Who can I solve this error?
I have only the 4 basic Leap repositories plus the Leap 42.1 Cinnamon one configured in my system.
You need to post sufficient information for anyone to evaluate what you’ve researched and concluded…
First, your system’s repos so we can know your sources
zypper lr -d
Then, your version of Cinnamon. According to http://software.opensuse.org, currently it’s likely 2.8.7 as of about 9 days ago (this writing). I don’t know if running “zypper info” on your system will return the Cinnamon version quickly…
zypper info cinnamon
You might also try downgrading Cinnamon to the previous version (2.8.6). Regardless of your results, this might be worth reporting a bug to https://bugzilla.opensuse.org.
