I am running Leap 42.3 on a Gigabyte GA-970 motherboard (AMD)
Ever since I set it up only 2 of the multiple USB ports on it work. All ports have power going to them as I can charge my mobile phone on any of them but none of the ports seem to allow any communication. It’s never been an issue to me, but now I need the additional USB ports to work!!
Bit of a novice with Linux and don’t know where to start but here’s the output from lsusb

The Gigabyte 970/990 series require some specific bios settings and addition to the kernel command line to ensure that the network card, usb2 and usb3 ports, all work as expected.
I think the issue is that the phone storage doesn’t show as a mass storage device; my Sony handycam and my road angel dash cam both show as mass storage, as do USB sticks.
Yep; I use Dolphin as my file manager; KDE connect and airdroid are both ok for small transfers but when I’m moving 50/60gb music or video it’s not suitable.
No worries I’ll just pop the memory card out and into the reader on the PC.
The phone is a Samsung SG7 - Not rooted. All it does when I plug it in is it goes to charging; no option to select MTP etc. Works perfectly with Windoze.
