Leap 16 updates issues

Hi to all,

From today’s updates I have some dependency issue and I am afraid of touching anything in case something brakes. Some help would be grateful.

Have a look:

Best regards. :grinning:

zypper in nvidia-modprobe

You want to install the nvidia packages of Verion 595.45.04, but this is the G07 driver.
So install explizit the Version for G06.

zypper in -f nvidia-modprobe-580.126.18-lp160.23.1

The second is a problem using vlc from Packman, Packman has a new Version 3.0.23, but some of your installed packages are from OSS and build with vlc Version from OSS 3.0.21.

Maybe you have to delete the phonon-vlc packages.

For VLC I haven’t touched anything. Everything is on default and I am not using vlc from Packman…

For the nvidia-modprobe I have done it as you say, installed correct and after that is i use zypper up again is saying that have 9 updates that can not be installed.

My fault, its a problem that the phonon-vlc packages are not build against the new Version in OSS.

It’s a information, that newer packages are there, but can not be installed because of newer Version not suitable to the installed ones, a repo change or so on.

As you can see, the first one is version 595.45.04 which means G07 driver…

The phonon-vlc is a bug

So far I can understand that this Nvidia issues both nividia-modprobe and nvidia-persistenced are basically NOT an issue and is just for informal because of a the new 595 driver.

Ok so for VLC we should wait until resolved I think…
