[Leap 15.6] KDE Plasma Wayland locks up when Distrobox (with Docker) container is ran

Hello,
I installed Leap 15.6 on a Dell Inspiron 16 5645 and when I created a Distrobox container with Docker, Plasma 5 locks up. The TTY is accessible and this problem doesn’t occur when the container is first started on one of the TTYs (i.e start the container on TTY and returning to Plasma), nor this issue pops up if Plasma is on X11 and not Wayland, though it freezes for less than a second before everything comes back again and it also happens in Tumbleweed.
Also the issue doesn’t come if the container is created with Podman, but I need Docker because for some reason in Podman, Snaps do not work, which is what I need for development.

Can someone help me fixing this? TIA

P.S: I think some took it for granted, but the containers i create have systemd (with --init flag at distrobox create)

Just an opinion … Wayland has always been problematic for all our machines, so only use X11.

Good luck!

Say whatever you think, but the point is that on any other distro it works just fine, but for some reason here it doesn’t. Also with X11 I would miss the side touchpad movements that I use in Firefox, and also other stuff I really want to keep. And alas, in every other distro Wayland works just fine, but again, for some reason it’s an openSUSE issue :frowning:

Thanks for confirmation …

I wonder if it would be worth trying with Plasma 6. You’d need to add the KDE repos mentioned here and upgrade accordingly…

Hello, I just tried this on Hyper-V (I can’t use any other hardware at the moment) and it still does the same thing :frowning:
Do you have any other tip? TIA

Only to submit a bug report.

One last question: could you tell me which logs do I need to grab? And if possible, could you tell me the commands as well? TIA

I recommend reviewing the following guide first

You will likely need to share the journal logs. If you can identify something obvious, you could share the log snippet showing the errors for example. I don’t use Distrobox at all so can’t offer anything further.

Thank you so much, I will create a bug report soon.
