Leap 15..6 boot error messages, But it starts & seems to be booting to workable functions

Started getting boot errors today. Boot it goes through a line or two , then I get several lines of ERROR messages that go by faster than I can read.
I can make copies of the boot.log , boot.msg, and boot.omsg files if needed.

How much of them should I post? All for snippets?

Also i may have to do with the new kernel in Leap 15.6, but I have been running it for a week or so now w/o the boot error problem. I can look at past boot logs to check that(I think).

NOTE! If I boot using the ‘Advanced’ option to boot using the ‘Recovery Mode’ it appears to boot normally. (IE; doesn’t stop with the error messages).

I should add it is running kernel 16.4.0.1500600.23.70-default(64 bit).

Nvidia drivers AGAIN ???

Upload full logs:

dmesg | susepaste -e "10080"
sudo journalctl -b --no-hostname | susepaste -e "10080"

10080 means one week expiration. man susepaste lists other choices.

Thanks, ready to go. What I have are the combined boot.log,boot.msg & boot.omsg for booting up normally & for booting from grub advanced (recovery mode) in 2 files.

The URL(s) resulting from your susepaste(s) need(s) to be provided here. I see nothing on https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes to suggest any I see there came from you.

They will be there in a while. I just got to my PC @ 6:PM this evening.

Boot logs 1

Boot logs 2

One of them has the error messages for bot the stops after some APCI lines
The other was started from the Recevory Mode in GRUB.

I see all lines containing string “fail” associated with nvidia module, and all with “Erro”, except one, RAS: Correctable Errors collector initialized., innocuous noise, are ACPI. Is there a firmware update for your motherboard available? I’d be ignoring them all if there isn’t one. As I understand, ACPI errors are usually about firmware issues.

@mrmazda AFAIK @Bill_L is on a HP Z series computer (Workstation) so RAS is present… if rasdaemon is running, then ras-mc-ctl --summary provides detail…

My Z440 is running DMI: Hewlett-Packard HP Z440 Workstation/212B, BIOS M60 v02.61 03/23/2023 (The windows version to update to TPM 2.0…) the version “02.59 Rev.A” is the latest from a linux point of view…

I ignore the ACPI errors…

Yes still on the HP Z440. The rasdaemon is not installed.
Should I install it?

I’ll have to look to be sure. but the bios version is M60 v2.59 dated in 2022.
No, there is no bios update listed on HP’s update site for my workstation.

As far as the ACPI errors, the boot process goes black, and a few seconds(?) later it brings up my desktop. All of the processes that usually run up the screen do not.

Can I rollback the kernel to an earlier version?
This didn’t start happening until a recent kernel update.

This what I found for TPM update
