Leap 15.2 or 15.3? Which one should I pick for playing games using Litrus?

Hey, guys!

As I mentioned in the title… which Leap version should I install if I’m gonna add Nvidia proprietary drivers for playing games using Lutris? These are some of my hardware specs:

  • Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050
  • 16 GB RAM DDR4
  • Ryzen 3 1300X CPU
  • HDD SATA3 200GB partition (Linux)
  • SSD M.2 256GB (Windows 10)

I found that in order to use Lutris I have to install, among others, DXVK… but, looking on the OpenSUSE package search, there’s no Leap 15.3 support for that package… only for 15.2. So, should I install the latter in order to play games?

Thanks in advance!

Check on 15.3 - Lutris is there - 15.2 is at EOL so install 15.3

Thank you, Larry! I’ll install Leap 15.3… should I install it from scratch or is it possible and reliable doing an upgrade from Leap 15.2?
Tell me… what does EOL mean?

When you have 15.2, you can continue using it for a while. See here https://en.opensuse.org/Lifetime.
So it is not EOL (End of life) already.

And yes, you can easily upgrade from 15.2 to 15.3 when you are ready for it. There is an on-line way to do it with the least fuzz

Thanks to everybody! I’ve installed Leap 15.3 again from a USB pendrive! Now I have to find the better way to install the Nvidia propietary drivers in order to play games.

When you are concentrated on games, then why didn’t you post your questions in the Games sub-forum here. That is where you fellow gamers are watching.
