Hello folks,
my LEAP 15.1 installation suddenly could not boot any more an a Lenovo Thinkpad T460s; it kept hanging at
loading initial ramdisk
.
I then tried the following steps:
(1) I downloaded a NET install file on a usb drive and tried to update to Leap 15.2, which failed because the wireless data rate was almost zero and errors popped up constantly.
(2) Then I downloaded a full install file to a usb drive and tried to update to Leap 15.2, which failed due to a read error.
(3) I then supposed a usb stick failure and downloaded it to another usb drive. The update to Leap 15.2 failed with the following error:
Caller: /mounts/mp_0001/usr/share/YaST2/lib/yast2/fs_snapshot.rb:337 in 'create'
Filesystem snapshot could not be created.
(4) I downloaded the Rescue Live CD to usb stick, resulting in the following error:
Kernel: overlayfs: failed to resolve /run/overlay/overlayfs/rs: -2
sysroot.mount: Mount process exited
(5) I downloaded the KDE live CD to a stick. It did not boot:
Error communicating to TPM chip
I then activated TPM in the BIOS and now end up with
localhost dracut-initqueue[565]: Warning: dracut-initqueue timeout - starting timeout scripts
localhost dracut-initqueue[565]: Warning: Could not boot.
Do you have any suggestions how to regain a working system (and if possible keep /home aliveā¦)
Thank you very much!
