I updated 1559 files this afternoon from the suggested update and since I cannot login anymore : “an issue occured, try to log out an try again” is the message I have on a beige screen.
It seems I am logged so but I can’t do anything else that click on the “log out” button below the message.
I tried to delete files like .ICEauthority .esd… etc… but it didn’t do anything. I tried to create another user from the console (ctrl+f4) with useradd : the log screen update nicely with the new user but trying to login with it leads to the same error.
I did reinstall everything… And today, it suggest to update 1396 files. Don’t know why the difference. And I’m kind of feeling a light burn on my fingers now… :\
Tumbleweed is a ROLLING distribution. This means it changes a lot. Depending on how old your install image is that can mean a lot of changes. If you don’t like this then try Leap instead. It is a stable distribution and though there are changes it is not like TW.
Oops ! My mistake… In fact I thought I was on Tumble but I am indeed on Leap…
And what is surprising me is that I just installed suse on 2 different computers and the other one is just fine : 7 updates today when this one I’m on is offering today 1504 updates… 108 more than yesterday ??? :sarcastic:
So I just do nothing for now… Waiting to solve this with zypper > so maybe one question : during the going wrong update it asked me if it could delete configuration files to solve conflicts. I said yes : was I wrong ?
Does not it replace what it deletes ?
And why the difference of treatmet between the 2 computers ?
