Anyone using laserjet CP1025nw with leap 15?
In opensuse 13.2 with hplip-3.14.6 an leap 42.2 hplip-3.16.5 it works nice.
In leap 15 with hplip-3.17.9 it does print only empty pages…
is there a know issue with this version?
Does it print a CUPS test page ok? From a browser, navigate to
localhost:631/printers
then Maintenance > Print Test Page
Verify that the printer can successfully print a test page from within the unit itself. From the user manual (I read online)…
Step 6: Test print functionality
- Print a configuration page. Select Print configuration page on the Services tab in the Printer Preferences
How does that check out?
If the CUPS test page does not work but the printer’s internal config prints okay, then we need to look at the CUPS configuration for the printer. These commands can provide the required information
lpstat -t
egrep -i "name|model|filter" /etc/cups/ppd/*
This HPLIP utility can also be used to detect missing dependencies/problems etc
hp-doctor
Self test page of printer prints fine.
From cups empty page only.
I tried to install latest hplip but depenencies fails…
The strange this is that ppd file is same after installation in os 13.2, leap 42.2 and leap 15 but does not work.
Now I have compiled newest version after installing all stuff and now it works with hplip-3.18.6 self compiled and installed…

Good to know that it is now working ok with hplip-3.18.6, although it should not be necessary to install/compile from source.

Maybe some packages I’ve installed to compile solved the problem.
I installed also the hplip from printer repository before compiling. I think this package should installed all needed packages if any…
I have notices that pyton stuff changed a lot, and also leap 15 is not supported as know distribution from hplip.
I don’t know were to inform hp about that…
Additional packages I’ve installed to compile hplip-3.18.6
cups-devel
dbus-1-devel
libjpeg62-devel
net-snmp-devel
libtool
libgphoto2-devel
libusb-1_0-devel
python-notify
sane-backends-devel
python2-qt4
python2-qt4-devel
python3-qt4
python3-qt4-devel

There’s usually a bit of lag with that, but I’m sure they will change that in time.
